Descent

The morning after the night before.

Peter, Dave and I attempt to kill two birds with one stone by rehydrating with the entire snow drift which had accumulated around our tent.

Unimpressed at the concept of getting out of the sleeping bag

Great weather for the descent, but the wind had increased on the upper mountain - the window was definitely closing

Washburn's Thumb again - this time with a view!

Peter skiing below 14k camp; he got the trash-bag strapped to his pack, Dave and I had the sled between us.

Apparently this arrangement worked well for Peter....

Avalanche conditions were a concern on Motorcycle Hill so we descended on snow-anchor belays. Mark Smiley styling it, carrying his sled bag briefcase-style!

Cruising down the Kahiltna, dreaming of breakfast.
One last view of Denali's south face from base camp

Next stop, Talkeetna.
